Eurolanguages.com is launched

27 August 2008

Until today, finding a place on a European language course was tedious and time consuming, and searching online wasn’t helpful. There were thousands of results for any destination without any indication as to which one was best. For those who persisted in the search, the only available options were confusing school sites with no online booking facility, or agencies that charged exorbitant service charges or demanded full fees upfront. Until now, that is. Eurolanguages.com offers students simple tools to find, compare and confirm language schools and courses from all over Europe using independent student reviews and ratings as a guide. With a simple two step booking process and a 20% deposit to confirm a place, there is simply no better option for booking a language course.

Director and co founder Peter Hutchinson remarked on the launch saying ‘this really is an exciting day for language travel. We’ve designed a site that cuts out the hassle with booking a language course, and in doing so, opened the industry up to many more people. No more fruitless searching for schools online, or ineffective night classes, Eurolanguages.com has language holidays for all abilities and all interests. They’re not holiday camps for teenagers either, we’ve got Italian and skiing in the Olympic mountains outside Turin, or Spanish and surfing in Tenerife. Something for everyone’.

Who is eurolanguages.com?

The duo behind Eurolanguages met by chance just over two years ago at an Entrepreneurship workshop run by the Enterprise Board. At the time Peter Hutchinson had been working as a marketing director for an English language school in Dublin, and Ben Croker was developing an online revision tool for leaving cert maths students. They kept in contact as Peter helped Ben with his pitch to schools, and Ben sounded out Peter’s early ideas for Eurolanguages. They were both inspired by the success of Hostelworld.com, and what a small Irish start up could achieve. Peter explains that they modelled themselves on Hostelworld, as they saw similarities in what they were doing. “Essentially, as I saw it, we were trying to solve a similar problem, where fragmented suppliers found it difficult and expensive to source their customers and visa versa”. After much analysis, they saw significant potential in an industry worth €2.3 billion in tuition sales, and set about developing a site that focused on every member in the supply chain. Two years later, and after many development headaches for Ben, they have launched Eurolanguages.com and are looking forward to getting it out there and promoting it.
